The meaningful inclusion of women is integral to vibrant democratic development and strong political parties. In 2003, the National Democratic Institute and its Chairman Madeleine K. Albright launched the Win with Women Global Initiative to promote strategies for increasing women's political leadership worldwide.
The anchor of this initiative is the Global Action Plan, a document that outlines practical recommendations for political parties to broaden their appeal by addressing women's role as voters, candidates, party activists and elected officials.
The Win with Women Global Initiative complements more than two decades of NDI's work with women in countries from every region of the world.
The International Knowledge Network of Women in Politics (iKNOW Politics) is an online workspace designed to serve the needs of elected officials, candidates, political party leaders and members, researchers, students and practitioners interested in advancing women in politics.
